Common Questions
Engineering and procurement questions we hear most often. For project-specific guidance, send your application details via RFQ.
For pressure vessels: ASME VIII (USA) or PED 2014/68/EU (Europe). For sanitary surface and design: 3-A (dairy/food) or ASME BPE (pharma/biotech).
Atmospheric tanks typically per 3-A or BPE only. Pressure rated (above ~0.5 bar) requires ASME VIII or PED code stamp.
Insulated: maintains temperature, reduces heat loss. Jacketed: actively heats/cools via circulating fluid (steam, hot water, glycol, cooling water).
For storage: insulation only. For processes requiring temperature control: jacket. Combined (jacket + external insulation) for high-efficiency.
ASME BPE SF4 (Ra ≤ 0.38 μm electropolished) is standard. SF5 (Ra ≤ 0.25 μm) for ultra-high purity (WFI, vaccine).
For food/dairy: mill polish Ra ≤ 0.8 μm. Specify with RFQ — surface finish significantly impacts cost.
Conical bottom with 10°-45° slope toward central drain outlet. No horizontal dead-spots. Internal welds ground flush.
For complete drainability (ASME BPE), specify riboflavin testing. Slope angle depends on tank size and product viscosity.
Up to ~3.5m diameter (4m with permits) can ship by truck. Larger tanks fabricated on-site or in sections welded at site.
Provide site access details: door dimensions, lifting capacity, crane availability. Site fabrication available for >50,000L tanks.
Standard tanks (100-5000L): 8-12 weeks. Large custom tanks (10,000L+): 16-24 weeks. ASME-coded vessels: add 2-4 weeks for code stamp inspection.
For accelerated delivery, modular standard sizes available. Provide target delivery date with RFQ for scheduling.
Standard: 3.1 MTR for body, weld map, pressure test certificate, dimensional drawing, manuals.
For pressure-rated: ASME VIII / PED certification, code stamp, hydrotest certificate. For pharma: full BPE package including surface finish, ferrite, helium leak test.
